WWII Reading Airshow and Night Shoot 2025
In July 2025, Lerro Photography sponsored a thrilling air-to-air photo shoot with the Military Aviation Museum’s F4U Corsair in Virginia Beach, VA. Nothing matches the excitement and adrenaline of photographing a warbird in flight from another aircraft.
For this photo shoot, we took to the sky at dawn in a Sherpa—a small cargo and skydiving aircraft perfectly suited for aerial photography. As the sun broke over the horizon, the Corsair met us above the Atlantic Ocean, and we flew in formation to capture a wide variety of dynamic angles.
During the first half of the session, photographers shot from the open rear door of the Sherpa, creating dramatic perspectives as the Corsair maneuvered behind us. Once those shots were complete, we closed the rear door and opened the side door to photograph striking ¾ angles of the aircraft in the warm morning light.
Our Corsair pilot put on an incredible performance, giving participants unforgettable views and a truly thrilling air-to-air photography experience. Our Sherpa pilots also did an amazing job maneuvering us into prime photo positions and keeping everyone safe.
This was our 4th A2A photo shoot with the Military Aviation Museum in the last few years and we look forward to working with them again in 2026.
