White Pass & Yukon Route 2025

In September 2025, Lerro Photography sponsored a five-day photo charter on the world-famous White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, the 67-mile narrow-gauge line stretching from Skagway, Alaska, to Whitehorse in the Yukon. Often regarded as one of the most scenic railroads on the planet, the WP&YR delivers endless mountain vistas, dramatic cliffs, tunnels, tundra, and sweeping river valleys—truly a photographer’s dream.

For five full days, our group traveled the line, making numerous photo stops along the route. The steam engine and crew put on an exceptional show, with runbys routinely reaching 20–30 miles per hour. Although the weather didn’t always cooperate, many participants still considered this one of the most memorable and rewarding charters they’ve ever attended.

Keep an eye out for details on our next White Pass & Yukon charter, coming April 2027.
