Phillies vs Yankees – July 30, 2024
In July 2024, I was able to photograph the Phillies vs. Yankees game at Citizens Bank Park for the online publication “Latino Sports.” While I have photographed all the other major sports teams in Philly over the last 20 years, I have never photographed the Phillies. During the game, I could photograph from both dugouts, so I switched back and forth every couple of innings. I could have shot from other spots in the stadium, but I opted to stay with the dugouts for my first game. Several friends and family asked the same question: Do you get to talk to the players? The answer is no. The photographers are there to take pictures without being seen or heard from. Only newscasters and bloggers with the proper credentials can approach and interact with the players. Only if a player came up to me could I interact with them. I had a great time shooting my first MLB game, and I look forward to shooting a couple more this season.
